The Corkals can now be found in many parts of Canada. Mel initially moved to Ontario in the 1940's to find work in the mines. He was soon followed by his younger brother Frank. Many of the Corkals stayed in Manitoba and the 3rd generation has moved on to Saskatchewan, southern Ontario and the Northwest Territories. Joe moved on to Brandon, Julie and Russell to Teulon and Alice to Winnipeg.

There are engineers, water scientists, surveyors and concert cellists.
